YoGA
Yoga is traditionally called the school of human psychology. The original meaning of yoga is the science of the mind. Originally yoga was used to promote a simple lifestyle and as a meditation toward contentment and liberation.
Yogas citta vrtti nirodhah. (P.S 1/2)
Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.
In yoga, Asana or postures train the body to be still for longer durations without creating discomfort or dis-ease. Here we are embodied, able to notice patterns and through practice we can surrender and create union between the body and mind.
Are you feeling dull and need more revitalization or purification?
Do you need to de-stress or relax?
Are you stiff or working with any injury?
Or are you looking for some clarity and education about Yoga…..
We can tailor any yoga, meditation or breathing practice to meet your current state of health.
VEDIC PSYCHOLOGY
Based on the ancient Vedic scriptures, Vedic Psychology uses practical techniques for self-study. Vedic Psychology introduces each part of the mind so one can see more clearly how their mind is operating. Once you understand your own mind, you can also understand the mind of others. Once aware, an individual can gain control over it and ultimately live with acceptance, understanding, and love towards the self and others.
Ayurvedic cooking classes
As wisely said, Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food (quote from Hippocrates) or You are what you eat articulates the very essence of Ayurveda. Depending on the source, it’s preparation, and an individuals capacity to digest; the same food that supports one individual could be a poison to another.
Everything begins with food; the qualities and elements, the combing of foods and the ability to digest. We can discuss and create a custom plan for your specific constitution, recipes per season, shopping local and the introduction of spices to balance, nourish and heal.
Growing up in an Italian family, now the lost art of '“cooking from scratch” was my ordinary, everyday lifestyle. Traditions include regular mealtimes, family gathered together, eating with gratitude for the preparation and appreciation for the fresh and home grown food, seasonally picked from the garden when possible.
I would love to share Ayurvedic cooking, as well as, my tips, tricks, recipes and healthy hacks in the home and in the community.
